Monsignor. James Shea - Eucharistic Revival and Kerygmatic Witness:
A Discussion

Monday, April 14, 2025 / 1-2:30pm ET

Please join us on Monday, April 14 from 1:00-2:30 PM ET for a webinar to prepare for the Institute on the Catechism’s Convocation. We will be discussing Msgr. Shea’s recent address at the Eucharistic Revival on the importance and beauty of Christ and the Eucharist:
Please be sure to watch Msgr. Shea’s address prior to our meeting. We will be discussing these questions as a group and any others you wish to raise!

  1. What are some unique and effective ways that Msgr. Shea catechizes that were particularly effective? How might I incorporate some of these into my ministry and what was one thing that stood out most to you in Msgr. Shea’s talk?
  2. Does Msgr. Shea proclaim the kerygma in his presentation? If so, how? Is it like or unlike Fr. Riccardo’s? How does he lead up to it?
  3. How does Msgr. Shea properly connect the Eucharist and the role of the Church to the heart of the Kerygma? Is it necessary to include the Church and the Eucharist when proclaiming the Gospel?
  4. What are some practical ways we can incorporate the Eucharist and the encounter with the Lord in the Eucharist into our own catechetical ministries? How can we enable others whom we help and oversee to do the same?
